A Volunteer from our Lebanon Optimist Club Avenue of Flags team will be visiting your home to place a metal sleeve in the ground 18 inches from the street in front of your home or business. This sleeve will have a yellow cap in the top of it when the flags are not being displayed and will sit flush to the ground. It will not interfere with your lawn care. 

We will also paint a white stripe on the curb extending into the street to make it easier for our community partner volunteers to locate your sleeve. 

We have several community partners who help us place and retrieve our flags. Most of our partners are youth groups such as scouting units, sports teams, church youth groups, etc.  These groups are compensated for their work. Your subscription helps the Lebanon Optimist Club fulfill our mission to bring out the best in kids in Lebanon and Warren County. 

Flags are placed 2-3 days before the flag holiday. Memorial Day flags are left up until after Flag Day. The flags will be taken down 2-3 days after Flag Day.  

Independence Day flags will be placed 2-3 days before the 4th and will be taken down 2-3 days after the holiday. 

Labor Day flags will be placed 2-3 days before the holiday and will be left up through Patriots Day on September 11.  Flags will be taken down 2-3 days after Patriots Day. 

Veterans Day flags will be placed 2-3 days before the holiday and will be taken down 2-3 days after.

If the flags are wet from rain, we will leave them up to dry. We cannot store wet flags.
